Additional information
Kentaro Otani`s "Yaku Sanju no Uso (30 Lies or So)" is a wry romantic
comedy reminiscent of Donald E. Westlake`s "The Hot Rock." A gang of
swindlers pull off a successful job, but misplace their loot while riding
together on their midnight getaway train (if you`ve ever been in Tokyo traffic,
this is not as ridiculous as it sounds). Based on a play by Hideo Tsuchiya,
the film retains the claustrophobic atmosphere of the stage piece. Starring
Kippei Shiina ("Calmi cuori Appassionati [Between Calm and
Passion]," "Spy Sorge") as the gang leader with singer/actress Miki
Nakatani ("The Ring," "Spiral") his romantic interest, who also betrayed him
on their last caper. Satoshi Tsumabuki ("Water Boys") and Seiichi Tanabe
("Hush," "Gege") also star. Comes with a bonus disc containing the making-
of featurette, a promo clip to "Abuku" by Crazy Ken Band, and more.
